DLA Piper has advised the US private equity fund Brookstone Partners on their acquisition of Morocco-based renewable energy company AM Wind from Altus and All’in Consulting.
The acquisition is a part of Brookstone Partners’ plans to develop a 900 MW wind farm in the Dakhla region of Morocco. With an estimated investment value of US$1.4 to US$3 billion over five years, the construction of the park is planned for early 2019 with the start of production of the first 50 MW tranche in early 2020. The renewable energy produced by the park will be entirely used by servers running blockchain applications, an innovative project in Morocco.
The DLA Piper Casablanca team was led by Casablanca Managing Partner Christophe Bachelet, with support from partner Saad El Mernissi, senior associate Camilia Benani and associate Marie-Michèle Banzio.
Other counsel: Garrigues and Afrique Advisors.
