An excellent opportunity has arisen with one of our global law firm clients for an ambitious Energy Senior Associate. You will be joining one of the most sizable Energy & Climate Change Groups of any law firm, with a dynamic international and future-focused strategy. The firm has over 4,000 lawyers worldwide and more than 450 energy and climate change lawyers.

The firm was an early entrant to designing and implementing modern energy markets and subsequently guiding the sector in the push towards decarbonization. This means they are not only transactional or project/infrastructure advisers in the sector, but they are uniquely positioned to help shape the industry going forward.

They are in demand for a Senior Associate who is able to advise on a wide range of technologies, including offshore and onshore wind, interconnectors and networks, energy storage, solar, electric vehicles, hydrogen, nuclear, carbon capture and storage, and digitization of energy systems, as well as more traditional oil & gas. You will be working alongside a highly experienced and specialized team, gaining an in-depth understanding of the legal, industry, and commercial arrangements across the power and renewables sector and becoming a subject matter expert. This role will offer you exposure to the full spectrum of practice areas within this sector, including commercial, regulatory, M&A, and projects work. It will also involve advising in parallel areas such as other utility sectors (gas, water, etc).

  • A Senior Associate or Counsel with ideally a minimum of 6 years of PQE.
  • Solid experience gained in private practice (in-house experience is welcome but private practice is essential), along with a Romanian law qualification.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial or project agreements in the sector.
  • Commitment to professional development and becoming a deep sector expert.
  • A candidate dedicated to supporting the valued clients in the Bucharest office.

This firm is diverse and inclusive, striving to embrace corporate social responsibility and create a culture of sustainability.
