Australia – Sydney 

Norton Rose Fulbright announced today that senior international arbitrator Andrew Battisson has joined as a partner in Sydney. Mr Battisson joins from law firm Allen & Overy, where he was the partner for the international arbitration practice in Singapore. He brings considerable experience in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration, with a particular focus on disputes in the finance, energy, infrastructure and telecommunications sectors.

Germany – Munich 

Latham & Watkins is pleased to announce that Thomas Weitkamp will join the Munich office as a partner in the Banking Practice. Weitkamp’s practice focuses on advising financial institutions and private equity firms on a variety of complex domestic and cross-border leveraged finance, corporate lending, and financial restructuring transactions. He regularly advises banks, direct lenders, debt advisors, and private equity funds on a wide range of matters including acquisition finance, public-to-private transactions, leveraged buy-outs, restructurings, and corporate loans, including the negotiation of major financing agreements and all aspects of legal transactions management.

Poland – Warsaw 

Wolf Theiss has strengthened its Tax Practice Group in Warsaw, appointing Karolina Stawowska as a Partner and head of the team. Karolina Stawowska is a tax and business adviser with over 20 years of professional experience, acting for corporate clients, private individuals as well as private equity and venture capital funds. She has worked on restructuring of capital groups, development of tax strategies for acquisitions and sales of companies, and investment financing. Karolina also has extensive experience in tax proceedings and conducting tax litigation in administrative courts.

UK – London 

White & Case LLP announced that they have expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice with the addition of Dominic Ross as a new partner in London. Ross, who joins the Firm’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, is focused on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. He has broad experience advising both listed and private corporate clients on a wide variety of mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and UK listing rule transactions, in particular large, complex deals involving UK public companies. Ross joins White & Case from Ashurst, where he was a partner, and brings more than 12 years’ experience.

Dentons has announced that Barry Cannaday rejoins the Firm as an Energy partner in the Dallas office. Cannaday, who rejoins Dentons where he previously practiced for 10 years, represents energy clients in matters involving downstream and midstream oil and gas exploration, production, processing, gathering, transportation and marketing.
