Australia – Singapore 

Dentons Rodyk is pleased to announce that Rod (Roderick) Howell has joined the firm as part of its Banking and Finance practice, expanding the range of its capabilities in this area. Rod brings with him over two decades of experience, including eight years in Asia, advising financial institutions, private equity/hedge and other funds, corporates and government agencies, with a focus on complex, structured, cross-border transactions. Coupled with a strong business acumen, Rod has accumulated a vast knowledge of markets across a number of regions having worked in key financial centres in Singapore, London, Hong Kong, New York and Sydney. Jones Day has announced that Elise Zoli has joined the Firm in Boston as a partner in its international Energy Practice. Ms. Zoli provides comprehensive national and global strategic direction on behalf of leading clean energy and water companies and their investors. She has particular experience in first-in-kind M&A or strategic investment in the nuclear, solar, transportation electrification (fuel cell and battery), storage, micro- and smart-grid, and wind sectors. As an advisor to energy clients on regulatory matters and related litigation, Ms. Zoli has addressed the resource considerations relevant to the existing and emergent clean energy sectors.

USA – Houston 

White & Case LLP has added new partner David Strickland to its Global Project Finance Practice and its Global Oil & Gas Industry Group in Houston. Strickland comes to White & Case from King & Spalding, where he advised owners of major petrochemical and refinery, LNG, oil & gas and power projects around the world. Strickland will support clients in all legal aspects of their construction projects, including helping them choose suitable project delivery systems. Strickland has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating both engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts and specialized engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contracts.

Norton Rose Fulbright expanded its corporate, M&A and securities team with the addition of two highly regarded partners: S. Ward Atterburyin New York and Mark S. Greenfield in Los Angeles. Atterbury joins from Katten Muchin Rosenman, where he served as co-head of its mergers and acquisitions group. His practice focuses on M&A transactions and related financings, and he has extensive experience representing sellers and buyers in domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and restructurings. Greenfield, who practiced at Blank Rome, concentrates on corporate transactions and corporate advice and counselling. He represents private equity sponsors, corporate acquirers and sell-side entrepreneurs in sophisticated mergers, acquisitions and divestiture activity as well as debt and equity capital raises.

USA – Silicon Valley 

White & Case LLP announced today that Howard Wettan has rejoined its Silicon Valley office as a partner in the Firm’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Technology Transactions Practices. Wettan returns to White & Case from Visa, where he was a Vice President and Associate General Counsel in the Technology & Strategic Partnerships group. Prior to Visa, Wettan worked as a Senior Counsel in the Apple legal department, where he advised and negotiated key transactions involving the launch of Apple Pay and supported various hardware product development teams.
