An opportunity has arisen with one of our law firm clients to join their team in Sofia and contribute to strategy and vision creation, implementation, transformation, and operational excellence. The firm’s clients include numerous well-known multinationals and listed groups, as well as privately owned companies, high-net-worth individuals, start-ups, and fast-growth companies. Their network is extensive. They are looking for a seasoned lawyer or a next-generation, high-potential leader to join their busy team and support the continued growth and expansion of the office. Your practice areas could include M&A/Corporate/Commercial, Banking & Finance, Compliance, Employment, Projects/PPP, Disputes, Energy, TMT/IP, Real Estate, or Healthcare. You can join solo or with team members essential to your practice.
The Role
You will have overall responsibility for achieving the firm’s goals and growth plans in Bulgaria. You will act as the visionary and primary leader (and influencer), holding lawyers accountable for their specific goals, responsibilities, and deliverables (both financial and quality-related). Additionally, you will enjoy practicing law by advising on interesting and challenging matters.
Required Skills and Experience
- Must be a qualified Bulgarian lawyer.
- Minimum of 12+ years of law firm experience.
- A solid practitioner with a strong reputation in your practice area and ideally ranked by Legal500 or Chambers.
- An excellent understanding of and ability to articulate law firm strategies.
- Proven leadership skills and business development track record, with portable business within the range required by the firm.
- Exceptional client service skills.
- Clear, articulate, and confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to engage in business development and networking activities.
- IT and legal tech savvy (a plus).
- Ability to achieve goals through teamwork and collaboration.
- Resilience, self-motivation, and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to diverse projects and cultures.
