Our client, is a leading law firm in Romania, ranked Top Tier in legal directories and highly regarded. They seek an associate for their Employment team with 1-3 years of professional experience. Their Employment law team advises clients on all types of individual and collective labour law issues, compensation & benefits and social security. They are also highly experienced in company restructurings and M&A. You will be trained by, and work alongside, lawyers that are leaders in the field and will be involved in sophisticated employment matters.
As a member of the employment practice the primary focus of your role will be to support senior associates and partners with:
- Legal research and case preparation on employment law matters;
- Drafting and negotiating labor law contracts, mandate/management agreements, and remuneration and benefits packages;
- Litigation related to dismissals, payment of wages, restructuring situations, selections, discriminations or other matters concerning the employees or their union negotiations with executives concerning the termination of their mandates or employment agreements, distribution of powers within the company or their performance;
- Legal matters related to different pay systems and benefits;
- Conducting due diligence reviews and investigations related to employment matters;
- Development and implementation of regulations, policies, rules and instructions; collective bargaining and managing the relations with the unions or employees’ representatives;
- Assistance in dealing with the labor authorities.
Requirements:
- Romanian law degree and bar membership;
- At least 1 year of Employment law experience gained at a leading domestic or international law firm in Bucharest;
- Good knowledge of Civil and Employment law;
- Passionate about tackling complex issues for both international and local clients, with a proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative spirit;
- Attentive to details and focused on meeting client needs;
- Fluency in Romanian and English is required.
