Our client is a leading law firm with a prominent Investment Funds practice. They specialize in providing comprehensive legal services covering a wide range of funds, including private equity funds, hedge funds, real estate and infrastructure funds, and registered funds.
Their expertise extends to the structuring of investment funds and secondary transactions, such as the sale of mature private equity funds, GP-led transactions, and preferred equity solutions. They also offer assistance in regulatory and governance matters, as well as carried interest schemes.
As an Investment Funds Lawyer, you will join a dynamic and growing team to assist with various aspects of investment fund structuring and management. You will work closely with experienced professionals, supporting them in providing high-quality legal services to their clients.
Responsibilities will include
- Structuring and documenting regulated funds: Assisting in the process of structuring and documenting regulated funds from pre-launch to post-closing stages, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assisting service providers: Collaborating with service providers and developing relationships with them to facilitate the smooth operation of investment funds.
- Advising on distribution channels: Providing guidance on distribution channels for investment funds, including analyzing regulatory requirements and assessing market opportunities.
- Participating in corporate and transactional services: Assisting in corporate and transactional matters related to investment funds, including due diligence, contract drafting, and negotiation.
- Client advisory and collaboration: Advising clients on investment fund-related matters, collaborating with local and international colleagues, and ensuring effective communication and follow-up.
- Industry knowledge: Staying updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in investment funds to provide informed advice to clients.
Qualifications and Skills
- Legal background: A law degree and relevant legal qualifications from a reputable institution.
- Investment funds expertise: Strong knowledge and understanding of investment funds, including alternative investment funds and their management companies. Familiarity with domestic and transnational funds (e.g., FCPI, FIPS, SLP) is highly desirable.
- Regulatory and governance knowledge: Understanding of regulatory and governance matters related to investment funds, including relevant laws and regulations.
- Attention to detail: Ability to review and analyze complex legal documents with precision, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
- Team player: Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and support senior colleagues.
