A dynamic, fast-growing, local and modern law firm in Bratislava, ranked as a top 10 law firm, seeks an associate for deal coordination and supporting senior lawyers on complex international transactions and projects for both foreign and institutional clients. The firm operates with a lean, non-hierarchical structure, offering talented lawyers early responsibility, meaningful involvement in matters, and the opportunity to develop professionally from the outset. This opportunity is well suited for a junior lawyer pre-bar exam. Candidates either having 1 or 2 years of experience after graduating law school or fresh out of law school but having worked in a law firm during their student years are if interest.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will support senior lawyers on a broad range of corporate and M&A matters with some real estate and possibly banking matters as well. The role calls for a strong focus on international work conducted primarily in English. From the outset, the role involves active participation in transactions and client-facing matters, combined with close mentoring from 3 to 4 senior lawyers / experienced colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaboration on interesting projects and international transactions for institutional clients
- Preparation of transaction documents (heavy M&A focus), contracts, and legal analyses
- Communicate with clients and contribute to materials used in strategic negotiations
- Independent management of projects and transactions or their complete parts – under the mentoring supervision of experienced colleagues, but with real responsibility
Candidate Profile
- Slovak Law degree (Master’s level or equivalent)
- 1–2 years of relevant experience (including traineeships or part-time work during studies)
- Interest in Corporate/M&A, Banking & Finance, and/or Real Estate
- Strong command of English (minimum B2; written and spoken) and native Slovak
- Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail
- Organised, reliable, and capable of managing tasks independently
- Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment
- Good time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines
