Our client, a leading firm in Ukraine is expanding its Corporate/M&A as well as their Antitrust & Competition practice and invite motivated lawyers to join their team. The Candidates should be able to work independently on a variety of complex matters within these practice areas;
- Corporate/M&A (Mid to Senior Level Associate): Focused on M&A-related matters including organising and leading due diligence teams, reviewing due diligence findings, preparing and negotiating deal documents. Provide assistance on corporate and commercial matters, including compliance with regulations, capital controls, and post-merger activities. Excellent English language drafting skills and familiarity with English law concepts are essential. Support initiatives to grow client relationships and enthusiasm for eventually playing a role in business development. Experience or interest in these sectors: energy projects, including renewables, infrastructure, and real estate, would be desirable but not a necessity. 4-5 yrs+ experience required.
- Antitrust & Competition (Senior Associate): Lead antitrust matters, including merger control, investigations, compliance, and litigation support. Advise clients on strategy, risk, and regulatory compliance. Represent clients before authorities and in settlement or litigation discussions. Proved experience of interacting with the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine is important. Can work as an integrated part of the Kyiv office contributing to the good atmosphere, with healthy respect for peers and juniors, and willingness and patience to take the time to train juniors. Able to grasp clients’ commercial objectives and develop a relationship with clients. Ability to attract Clients/originate work is a plus, with recognition for successful contributions. Presentable and internationally credible. 5 yrs+ experience required.
These roles require a:
- Ukrainian law degree
- Professional experience at a leading local or international law firm, foreign LLM is an advantage
- Strong drafting skills and a commercial mindset
- Entrepreneurial mindset and able to think multi-jurisdictional.
- Advocate’s license will be a plus
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English (written and spoken)
